As a result of an Appeal Court of Justice sitting in Abuja that upholds the suspension of the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, by the FCT High Court on Tuesday, the APC has announced Senator Abiola Ajimobi as the acting National Chairman of the party late Tuesday night.
At the end of the National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held late Tuesday’s night in Abuja, a release was signed by the Publicity Secretary of the party, Lanre Isa Onilu. The statement reads “Guided by advice from the party’s legal department in line with the provisions of Section 14.2. (iii) of the party’s constitution, the Deputy National Chairman (South) Senator Abiola Ajimobi will serve as the party’s acting National Chairman”.
The magazine gathered that the replacement is unavoidable because the court orders the vacation of Oshiomohle and the seat can not remains vacuum. Therefore, somebody must act in that capacity until the determination of the substantive suit.
Meanwhile, you will recall the magazine has reported the ill health of Senator Abiola Ajimobi. Notwithstanding, the ailment has nothing to do with the appointment. An APC stalwart affirmed.
