Ahead of October governorship poll in Ondo state,the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has urged the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to remove Ondo state Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Salami.
This according to him is to redeem his image.
Secondus, spoke in Akure, the Ondo state capital, on Monday while receiving the state Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi to the PDP.
He decried the drama between the Deputy Governor and Ondo CP on Saturday evening, saying it was an eyes opener for the party ahead of the poll.
It would be recalled that the state CP at the weekend barred the Deputy Governor from moving out of the Government House ahead of his defection in his home town Kiribo in Ese- Odo Local Government Area of the state.
Secondus accompanied by Deputy National Chairman, South, Elder Akinwonmi , National Woman Leader , Hajia Wasiri , the former Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose, among others, warned the CP to stop interfering in the state politics.
He said “Election is for people to choose their leaders, so, we want to advise our security agencies that enough is enough. They should be at their duty post to make sure that everyone is secure not to assist the APC. What has happened in Ondo state was an eyes opener and we want to warn the CP to stop all this mess.
The CP should be warned not to interfere with the issue of politics in Ondo state and we will take the matter up to the National level.”
The National Chairman assured all the aspirants and members of the party in the state that the party would conduct a free, fair and credible primaries ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state .
His words” Our coming here today is not to endorse a particular aspirant. It is for the generality of the people. I will charge all the aspirants to team up together to reclaim Ondo state from APC.
The Ondo state Deputy Governor, Ajayi, alleged that the CP was planted in the state to come and rig the forthcoming election for APC.
According to him,If what happened on Saturday did not happened, we would not have know that his man was planted to come and rig election in the state.
However,he warned him againdthe rigging election in the state because of its consequences.
Ajayi said he was not just a member of PDP but a founding member,stressing that he returned to the party to add value and equally help to dislodge the ruling APC .
He said, ” I am ready to abide with the constitution of the party. The people at the other side know that our exit from APC, will give victory to PDP. I am back to my home. We have come to add value to this party. We are ready for any intimidation.”
Also speaking , the former Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose, noted that the state was ripe for harvest.
Fayose alleged that APC has been stealing in Nigeria, stressing that they stole in Ekiti, Osun, Lagos, Kogi and everywhere
He said they would come around to recapture Ondo State through massive votes on the election day.
