Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) United Kingdom (UK) Ondo state Chapter have donated branded election souvenirs to support the reelection bid of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The package include 700 branded T-Shirt for the Governor, Party offices,APC members and 18 local government party chairmen among others.
There were also 1,800 face masks distributed to similar sections within the ruling party.
Presenting the items on behalf of the APC UK Chairman, Ondo State caucus, Chief Julius Adeyeye at the APC state secretariat, Akure, the state capital, a chieftain of the party, Otunba Paul Akintelure said the souvenirs were part of the group’s contribution to the anticipated victory of Akeredolu/Ayedatiwa in the October 10 poll.
He said, “we are glad for this exemplary contribution by APC UK leaders, when they come around for the election, they will see the useful effects of what they had done”
Akintelure, a Medical Doctor and former running mate to Akeredolu in the 2012 gubernatorial election, said the governor would perform to satisfaction as promised, calling for unflinching supports to facilitate victory for the APC.
Receiving the items on behalf of APC state Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, the Vice Chairman, APC Northern Senatorial District, Solomon Eleufola appreciated the APC members in the diaspora for the gesture.
He said the essential materials donated had demonstrated the goodwill being enjoyed by the Governor, especially from those who are not living in the state.
Eleufola said, “We sincerely appreciate the immense contribution of our brothers and sisters abroad for showing commitments to the reelection bid of Governor Akeredolu, we are praying that God will replenish your pockets”.
Among executive members of the group who provided the items are Tunde Doherty from Ifedore local government, Ayo Adigun (Ose) Julius Adeyeye (Akure) Babatunde Ogunmusire (Okitipupa), Prince Fola Olateru-Olagbegi (Owo) and Akinwale Akinyemi (Ondo).
Others are Prince Yemi Olagbegi (Owo), Rufus Salotun (Ifedore), Femi Aboluwodi (Ose), Hon. Oriaki (Akure) and Fola Omoniyi (Ondo).
The Executive committee of the APC UK chapter in a separate letter to Governor Akeredolu, jointly signed by its Deputy Chairman, Tunde Doherty and Chairman, APC UK, Ondo state caucus, Adeyeye expressed its support for Akeredolu ”in his quest to model the state towards economic growth as trusted link to connect the globe in this next level”.
The group had been supporting the progressives camp in Ondo state since 2012 when Governor Akeredolu made a first attempt to govern the Sunshine state but failed.
