Ogundokun Hails Osun @ 29

An elder statesman, High Chief Abiola Ogundokun has congratulated the people and Government of Osun on her 29th creation anniversary.

In a statement by the eminent politician, Ogundokun urged all and sundry to totally support the administration of Governor Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola.

Charging Osun citizenry to rally support for Oyetola’s administration, Ogundokun noted that “the Governor is a God fearing man that has been doing all within his powers since he came to power to provide dividends of democracy to Osun people in fairness, just and equitable manner from our collective patrimony.”

He added that “the administration has excelled in areas of impetus to tourism promotion, health care delivery services, peaceful mining development, devoid of banditry as well as infrastructural development.”

He charged the citizenry home and abroad to be united and shun all divisive tendencies like religion, ethnicity as well as other parochial interests in order to bring greater developments to the State and their communities, saying “united we stand, divided we fall.

Lauding all the past leaders of the State in his congratulatory message, the Iwo born High Chief said, “Osun has been blessed with good, purposeful and focused leadership since inception till now. This can be seen in achievements recorded by all the leaders, both military and civilian that God has chosen to rule the State.”

Ogundokun, therefore said, “the creation of Osun State is not by accident of the Babangida’s administration. For, Ile-Ife in Osun State is the cradle of Yoruba and civilisation from historical times that has never been disputed till date. Therefore, the merging of Ife, Ijesa, Oyo, Ibolo Yoruba in a State is a unique renaissance of our past harmonious, peaceful cordial existence.

“This is because peace is sine qua non for development. This has been the dictum which all our past leaders had relied upon that made us have the development that Osun is has today in Nigeria.

“For Osun to continue to play its roles in Nigeria mainstream political development of the nation in the past and present is a testimonial to a greater future that awaits her”.
