A Nigerian woman, 29 and mother of three has made a break through for livelihood through self-innovation and perseverance. Bashir Kurfi thought of converting wasted pure water sachets that litter Abuja streets and neighboring communities to interlocking floor tiles.
She identifies the accumulated pure water sachets as a major problem to the free flow of water in the drainages in Abuja metropolis. According to her, she thought of what can come out of the waste because it is in large quantity. She said “When I started out this journey, many people laughed at me while I was collecting the waste all around Abuja.”
Bashir Kurfi is now self-employed and employer of labour. She produces interlocking that is better than most ones in the market from the waste materials.
