GM Herald Newspapers Applauds FPS

The General Manager of The Herald Newspapers in Kwara State, Mr. Yomi Adeboye has commended the establishment of The Fourth-Estate Professional Society (FPS) in Nigeria.  According to him “The Fourth-Estate Professional Society  emerges at the  right time when the journalism profession needs a proper overhauling in terms of training and professional practice in Nigeria.

The GM said this when the delegation of the newly founded Journalism Association paid him a courtesy call in office on Thursday. The National President of the FPS, Dr. Babatunde Salami who led the delegation to the State owned newspaper said the Association is not in contest or rivalry with NUJ or other journalism Associations, but it emerges because of dynamic in all professions, in which journalism can not be exempted from the global change.

The National Secretary of the Association, Mr. Michael Olanrewaju in his own remark appeals to Mr. Adeboye to support the new Association because is a professional body that will take care of training, retraining and welfare of its members.

Mr. Adeboye promises to synergize with the FPS where necessary because no media house can exist without the support of journalists who are the key players in mass communication sector.  The GM also promised the Fourth-Estate Professional Society to count on his support and that of the Herald Newspapers because we all partners in media space. The GM assured.
