Give Us Direct Primary – Ondo APC Aspirant Urges NWC

A governorship Aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state, Barr.Nath Adojutelegan has urged the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC to adopt Direct Primary for the selection of candidate for the October election in the state.

There had been controversy regarding the mode of election to adopt in the forthcoming primary elections.

Adojutelegan recalled that the APC 2018 congress in Ondo State was fraught with irregularities and improprieties.

According to him, one group produced the names of all the executive committees at ward, local government and state levels, while another group organized parallel congresses at the ward , local government and state levels to form parallel executive committees .

“They instituted court proceedings and the matter is still pending in court. In these circumstances,11 of the 12 aspirants contesting in the primary election prefer Direct Primary mode of election.

The lawyer cum Politician respectfully asked the national leadership of the party to adopt direct Primary.

According to him” This will avoid a deepening inter-crisis, unify all the members of the party in readiness and preparation for the governorship election, avoid excluding and disenfranching a majority of the members of the party from the primary election process.

Apart from these, the aspirant said the Direct Primary would create a level playing field for the aspirants and act as a catalyst to winning the governorship election by enabling emergence of the most popular aspirant as the party’s candidate.

He added that it would also prevent the Zamfara’s experience in the Sunshine State.

The governorship aspirant who listed various laudable projects he promised to pursue, urged the people to support his political aspiration.
