Edo 2020: Obaseki Sleeps No More, Seeking Reprisal Against APC

The aftermath of  Governor Obaseki’s disqualification to part take in the forth coming APC gubernatorial primary election, and subsequent  looming expulsion from the ruling party is giving the embattled Obaseki political sleepless nights.

TopSearch reliably gathered that on Sunday, the Edo State governor visited two governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.  According to reliable sources, the embattled governor visited the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in Government House, Port Harcourt.  The duo met at a closed door meeting and refused to address the press thereafter.

The Magazine gathered that the meeting may not be unconnected with the disqualification of Obaseki from the APC primary slated for June 22 in Benin. The purpose of the meeting was not disclosed but a source confirmed that Obaseki is seeking for an alternative party to slog it out with APC in the gubernatorial election coming up later in the year.

Similarly, on the same Sunday, the embattled governor paid unscheduled visit to his counterpart in Akwa Ibom State, Governor Udom Emmanuel of PDP at the Government House.

The meeting also lasted for hours without briefing the press the purpose  come of the parley. A source confirmed.

Since the disqualification of Obaseki by the APC, the governor has been making contacts with the PDP chieftains on how he would actualize his political career as a reprisal to APC. In the same vein, TopSearch Magazine gathered that immediately Obaseki’s disqualification was pronounced by the APC, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar gave him a call on the way forward.

Meanwhile, Obaseki has condemned the disqualification to partake in the party primary and indifference to the outcome of the Appeal Committee as he did not appeal the report of the screening committee.
