The presentation of official vehicles to members of the Ondo state House of Assembly is causing ripples across the state.
Already, the Ondo state Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi has criticised Akeredolu for excluding nine lawmakers from the presentation of 2020 Model of SUV KIA Sportage presented as official cars.
He alleged that the nine uncompromising lawmakers, who refused to sign his recent impeachment bid were exempted from the gift.
Ajayi spoke through his media aide, Allen Sowore on his twitter handler.
He said, “Presenting official vehicles to only members of the State Assembly, who are loyal to the governor and leaving out nine, who refused to sign impeachment process of the Deputy Governor is the lowest political strategy.
However, Akeredolu, while presenting the vehicles to the state legislators at the Government House in Akure, Ondo State, said his administration though constrained by the dwindling resources accruing to the state at this time will continue to keep to its promises.
According to him, “What matters to me is that when we make promises we keep them. It is not for political reasons. We have been on this car issue for a while and luckily, it came today just before the flag off”.
He maintained that nobody was doing it for political reason stressing that it was an improvement on what they had last.
