Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) United Kingdom(UK) Ondo state chapter have felicitated with Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on his victory as the party flag bearer for the October 10 governorship election in Ondo state.
Akeredolu defeated nine other aspirants to emerge the APC’s candidate for the contest.
Earlier, three aspirants, Ife Oyedele, Segun Abraham and Jimi Odimayo had stepped down for Akeredolu to facilitate unity within the party.
The UK APC members lauded Engr. Oyedele for stepping down for the purpose of unity and uncommon development agenda of this government.
The group had earlier held interactive zoom meeting with Oyedele where he unveiled his agenda for Ondo state which includes free education, agriculture evolution, functional and free health services, infrastructural development etc.*
The UK APC members in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary,Fola Olagbegi noted that Akeredolu’s victory at the shadow election was a demonstration of his administrative acumen and achievements in office which they described as a source of joy to party stakeholders in the diaspora.
Other leaders of the party are the Chairman, APC UK, Chief Dare Adeyeye, Deputy Chairman, UK APC,Hon.Tunde Doherty and Mr.Ayo Adigun,the Auditor,APC UK(Southwest Caucus).
The statement reads” Mr Governor,we rejoice with you on this well deserved victory and sent our best wishes to you,while praying for more successes for the state and APC particularly during the general election on October 10.
” We appreciate your commitment to the party and proactive stewardship for the upliftment of the state.We also pray for more visionary leaders like you for Ondo state.
“We are glad to associate with you as a shinning example of exemplary leadership by way of consolidating theh ruling party in the state at this crucial time.Your victory at the primaries is an attestation of that leadership virtues.
The APC stakeholders pledged their readiness to collaborate with Akeredolu’s administration in achieving the vision of greatness among other states.
Besides,the group lauded the courage of other aspirants particularly those who stepped down for the governor,describing them as good party men with dignified spirit of sportsmanship.
The statement urged them to work together with the administration to ensure total victory for the party during the October 10 general election in Ondo state.
