In a development that looks like a sweet political revenge for Amaechi’s faction in Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC), the court anointed APC Caretaker Chairman, Igo Aguma has been suspended as the Chairman by 28 out of the 38 State Executive Committee (SEC) members of the party.
A former Rivers East Senator, Andrew Uchendu who announced the resolution of the SEC in Port Harcourt said Dr. Sokonte Davis, (a core loyalist of Amaechi) has now been appointed as the new Acting Chairman.
According to Uchendu, Aguma was recognized as APC Caretaker Committee Chairman following a High Court judgment delivered by Justice George Omereji. The court ordered all statutory SEC members of the Rivers APC to be part of the Committee but Aguma disrespected the court judgment by taking decisions without the committee members. The court did not pronounced Aguma a sole administrator of the party in Rivers State. Uchendu said.
